Simple Test for Germs in Drinking Water

Here is a simple test that uses sugar to detect the presence of germs in drinking water.

Put 1 teaspoon of sugar in a glass of water and expose it to the sun for a few days. If bacteria are present it will turn milky.

If it remains clear it is safe for drinking.
